Community Programmes offer development in:
- Reading comprehension
- Writing (spelling, grammar and vocabulary building)
- Speaking, listening and pronunciation
- Numeracy
- Basic computing
- Learner Driver Licence
Support takes place in a range of venues across the Shore during the day and after hours to cater for those who are working.
Support is either one on one or in small groups.
Community programmes allow adults to boost their skills to:
- Improve the quality of life for both individuals and family
- Prepare for vocational and tertiary study
- Prepare adults to return to the workforce, gain promotion and move up the employment ladder
Community Classes include:
- English for Work (day and evening)
- Pronunciation
- Speaking and listening
- ESOL
- Preparation for tertiary study
- Preparation for the services (fire, army, navy, police)
- Learner driver licence
- Foundation skills support for those with a range of disabilities
- Basic computing
- Get Ahead Start (Open Polytechnic pre-employment L1 certificate course)
