Who we are:

Literacy North Shore is a not for profit organisation. It has supported the local community for over 30 years offering literacy, numeracy, basic computing and learner driver support at no cost to the student. It offers annual tutor training.

The organisation services a wide geographical area from Devonport to Whangaparoa/Orewa, Takapuna to Beachhaven.

The organisation, although autonomous, is a member of the national organisation Literacy Aotearoa.

To offer confidential literacy and numeracy support to enable members of our community to improve the quality of their lives and employment potential.

To provide quality specialist national tutor training and on going professional support opportunities to tutors.

Our Guiding Principle:

All adults need good literacy skills to live effectively in our society.

Our Mission is to:

Provide a confidential service to adults living or working on the North Shore who seek help with literacy.
